A friend of mine has a 1997 Volkswagen Transporter T4 Razorback UTE, with a pantech top, like a van. My understanding is a Eurovan is same as Transporter type T4.

As he has a user manual, but no workshop manuals or anything on the Razorback. So he asked me to see if I could find anything like a pdf of a.

T4 WORKSHOP MANUAL or T4 REPAIR MANUAL RAZORBACK USER MANUAL or RAZORBACK WORKSHOP MANUAL I can't find anything, so if anyone has a standard T4 repair, works shop manual, or anything that has any additional Razorback stuff would be great, especially the rear, and hydraulics or such, which is different to a standard T4. To decribe the RAZOR BACK, it has a hydraulics platform, like a ute back that raises up and down. Apparently they were made as a commercial vehicle for loading and unloading beer barrels. They even made a van back with the same hydraulic platform.

From what I understand the system its self is quite basic, but the pipe work is quite difficult to replace. The running gear is standard T4, I know that particular van is the 2.5 diesel with the manual gearbox (best options!) You will be very lucky to find any WSM on the razor back itself, but any hydraulic guy will soon fathom it out, there will be switches to tell the pump if the back is up or down, if any locking devices are activated, and if there's sufficient fluid / power to operate the system (i'd fit an auxiliary battery if it hasn't already got one) Also give the running tracks a very good clean and lube job to keep it all smooth! The whole of the rear sides can be removed for maintenance, but its no 5 minute job! A great vehicle, quite unique.

And worthy of putting in the time and effort to understand and look after it.
