Focal America only honors warranties for products purchased through our network of Authorized Retailers. You can locate a Focal Authorized Retailer near you by entering your location in our. You may also decide to search for retailers whose stores feature a Focal Display, or those with MECP Certified Technicians. Non-authorized retailers do not have the obligation our authorized retailers have to market and sell our products properly.
You could be exposed to bait and switch, where one product is advertised but not available, and where you are directed to buy another one, possibly of another brand. You could also see non-authorized retailers advertising products they do not have in stock, they sometimes use that to build up traffic on the reputation of higher end brands. If you buy from a non-authorized retailer and he closes shop shortly after, you will have no recourse.
If you buy from one of our authorized retailers and he closes shop, we will be able to support your product and assist you in finding an authorized retailer to help you with your installation or with any other needs you may have. Focal America / Orca Design & Manufacturing supports their products and guarantees them to be free of manufacturing defects for a period of 1 year (non-transferrable) from the date of purchase, if purchased from and authorized retailer. This time period is extended to 3 years (non-transferrable) from the date of purchase, if the product is purchased from and installed by an authorized retailer, and no alterations are made to the installation or setup of the product outside of the authorized retailer. The authorized dealer will then work with Focal America / Orca Design & Manufacturing to obtain service, if necessary. Products bought from a non-authorized retailer do not carry the original Focal warranty.

Counterfeit makers can mimic the cosmetics of an item but certainly not the technology nor the sequence of serial numbers on an item issued from the Focal factory. This number is not simply a random string of letters and digits but a specific code relating the history of the product, such as where and when it was made. In most cases counterfeiters simply use the same serial number over and over again and we have identified numerous counterfeit products ( and the dealers who sell them) simply by these products all exhibiting the same serial number.

They remove stickers from boxes and magnets and will even go as far as grinding all or part of the serial number off the back of the magnet. The question is why? You have to ask yourself why would someone go through such trouble to hide the origin of the product he is trying to sell. Again, these numbers are the code identifying the product’s origins and this is why we take this very seriously and so should you. This is also why responsible operators such as eBay and Amazon have strict policies about sellers attempting to sell products on their sites with defaced or altered serial numbers. EBay’s Policy: Regardless of where you purchase a Focal product, you, as the consumer, have the right to an authentic serial number on the product you purchase.
